Making a 15mm Greek Temple

Hi,

Several years ago I made a Greek Temple for my 15mm Greeks\Persians. I found some photos of the project so I thought I would share them.

The entire temple was made from items found at Michael's craft store, except for two items

• Thin cork. Cut to size.
• Wooden Dowels
• Wooden circular bases that tapper on one side.
• Craft paper that looks like tiles if painted right.
• HO scale figures for a statues
• Decals (25mm) from VVV to crown the top.

Base structure and reflecting pools.

Adding some details and underlying roof support.

White washing.

Finished project!



This makes a great terrain peice for my games. Greek miniatures by Chariot Miniatures. Decals by VVV.

Vienna Falls to Turks!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. (I still owe you a Boxer Rebellion update)

In this post I wanted to show a glorious 25mm battle we fougth at Joe Robert's Wargame bunker in Gastonia, NC.

His collection is spectacular and was painted by David Bonk and the walls of Vienna and the entrenchments were made by Herb Gunt?(Not sure I have that spelled correctly)

The scenario was a combination of Turkish assault on the walls of Vienna while the Polish\German allies charge in to relieve the siege.

Rules were adapted from Joe's ACW rules, and movement was dramatic in that units could move upwards of 3 feet on a charge order! The game was fast and furious and the photos will give you an idea of the eye candy on this table.

The Turks were able to hold off the Polish relief force and capture the walls of Vienna resulting in a Turkish victory! I played the Tartar horse archers, which played fairly historically.

Titanic cavalry battle! The Turks eventually held this flank long enough to breach the walls of Vienna.



The game took about 3 hours to fight to conclusion which was nice.

WW2 Pacific Teaser

RevWar - French vs Austrians 1793

We fought this French Revolution battle (15mm) featuring the French Republican Army of Hal Hood and my Austrian Revolution army. I've been collecting my Austrians to fight the bloody Ottomans, but they fill in perfectly to fight Hal's French.

Hal's French Revolution army is pretty amazing and has loads of different figure manufacturers plus all sorts of vignettes. I love when he puts them on the gaming table! Normally, they are fighting the Vendeens, but this time it was my Austrain Army (mostly Chariot Miniatures).

The scenario was fought using Piquet and focused around a mid-battle counter-attack by French forces against a disordered and scattered Austrian line. All my Austrian batteries and Grenzers were disordered to start the battle. Yikes!

This really isn't a true battle report, but rather some nice photos of the game. I should have taken a photo of the original starting locations, but forgot to.

The game was won by the Austrians after the initial French breakthrough pushed the Grenzers back and overran a battery or two. The Austrians weighed in with numbers and smashed the thinned out French center. We hope to play a lot more games for this period. Lesson learned? Don't bring National Guard to a gun fight!
